More of the Aurora Boralis.
Tuesday 8th September 2015

An unusual occurrence tonight, we knew that the Aurora Borealis would be strong early but we never envisaged Rhiain looking out of the door at 8:53 pm and being able to see it, the first time she has viewed it from home and we even woke Kura up to see the “pretty fireworks”. We drove to the other side of Estevan to take some photographs, disappointingly the main event had passed but we were still able to take some photographs including ourselves using the headlamps of the car, although trying to stay perfectly still for a 30 second exposure wasn’t easy, especially as we were laughing, as can be seen by “our” blur!

Wednesday 9th September 2015

We decided to go to our usual location earlier tonight, although astronomical twilight (real darkness) wasn’t until 21:10 the light slowly disappearing on the horizon and the light cloud was interesting and we were having a show of the Aurora Borealis before it went “black”. A nice “spikes” tonight and the light bouncing off the clouds made for some great photographs. It went quieter at 22:18 so we decided to drive back only to have another light show over the house went we arrived home 30 minutes later. Murphy’s Law last night we arrived too late, tonight we left too early.
